📄 Overview

This project aimed to develop a gearless mechanism to transmit power between two shafts positioned at a 90-degree angle by converting translatory motion into rotary motion. The design eliminates traditional gears and instead uses sliding links to achieve power transfer efficiently.

🎯 Objectives

  • Design a gearless transmission system for shafts at right angles

  • Convert rotational motion into translatory and back to rotational motion

  • Develop a lightweight, low-maintenance alternative to conventional gear systems

  • Developed a functional prototype for gearless transmission with reduced mechanical complexity

🧠 What I Did (Role: Project In Charge)

  • Contributed actively to concept generation and mechanism evaluation

  • Took lead in mechanical design and layout of the L-type configuration

  • Designed the bent links and sliding mechanism that facilitated motion conversion

  • Supported the team in visualizing and optimizing the transmission system
