📄 Overview
This project involved the design and development of an OEM-approved footlight system to illuminate the legroom (carpet) area inside vehicles. The focus was on enhancing interior visibility and aesthetics while meeting automotive safety and design standards.
🎯 Objectives
Design an efficient lighting system to illuminate the vehicle’s legroom
Ensure optimal light distribution and component positioning
Meet OEM standards for both Honda and Toyota Kirloskar Motor
🧠 What I Did (Role: Project In Charge)
Designed plastic and sheet metal components using CATIA V5
Determined optimal mounting location for footlight within the vehicle
Performed light analysis using TracePro to evaluate illumination feasibility
Selected automotive-grade components within acceptable tolerance levels
Maintained regular interface with the electronics team for input on circuit integration
Participated in mass production and testing of the finalized product
Presented design feasibility and analysis reports to clients for approval
